July 29, 2015, Cape Coral FL - On Wednesday the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC organized their first activity of the 2015-2016 season with all the Academy players and parents.
More than 130 people came to the event enjoying pizza and getting to know each other. All players received a complimentary Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC postcard and t-shirt (thanks to sponsor Matthew Wiese), turning restaurant IL Primo Pizza & Wings on 2209 Santa Barbara completely orange for the night.
The second activity is already scheduled when the Dutch Lions FC Academy will go to St Petersburg on August 22 to watch the Tampa Rowdies play Minnesota United FC in the NASL.
The Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC Youth Academy currently has 7 teams. Players can join the Academy and/or Training School throughout the year. There are several try-out dates scheduled in August. The pre-season starts August 10, the actual season in US Club Soccer starts September 26.
